She has community commendations in art, has taught art at a secondary school level for 22 years, and has facilitated tertiary courses in art. A descendant of Ngai Tahu and Ngati Kahungunu descent, Tucker was born in Invercargill and has lived all around New Zealand. A strong connection to the land resonates through her bold Japanese
